Cracked Headlight Housing

If I have to replace the Headlight anyway is there a better Headlight Assembly than the stock unit. On my motorcycle there are several reflector assemblies that take advantage of better bulbs.

Depends on what your truck is, 4runner or Tacoma as well as year. As for 4runner, 96-98 you can replace the entire assembly with units from 99-02, better clarity, better light dispersal. Also going HID is another option as well as going with the projector mod. Give more information, do a write up on your profile so we know what your driving and can recommend options.

I should have been more specific. I have a '96 4runner. I did go to the Toyota Parts Dept and looked at a new 96 headlight and a new 2000 headlight and they are identical except for the reflector so it is a no brainer to upgrade. They are typical Totota Quality.

Are any of the cheaper after market headlights anywhere close to the Toyota Quality???

Are the 99-02 covers plastic or glass? My 97 covers are glass, probably why they suck. I was looking at RockAuto and the 99-02 headlight assembly (TYC) is only $38, while the ones for my 97 are about $90.

what were the prices for the 99+? I've been quoted 170 each and I cant get myself to pay 350 for headlights when mine are fine. i have been hoping a rock can hit them and force me to buy the 99's. but no such luck.

Thats the same money that I see. I am a little further along than you are as I have a crack in my passenger light. Is is still hard to pull the trigger on a headlight swap but with winter just around corner and more night driving it's just a matter of time
