Cost to fill up your Tacoma's fuel tank?

Ok so I haven't been around in a while. To make it short and sweet: I graduated, moved to Houston, and started a new job in the past month.

Anyways, I'm now back in the market for a new truck. I've been looking at Chevy's mainly with a few Dodge's and Toyota's thrown in there. The Dodge is pretty much out - not enough power for the mileage. I just found a nice 2000 PreRunner Tacoma fairly close to me for a decent price. So how much does it cost to fill up your Tacoma's gas tank? What's the range for a tank of gas on a V6?

If the 4runners have the same tank, feel free to chime in. The only reason I'm asking is that I'm now getting about 14-15 mpg in my old Ram and $65 a week is a bit absurd. The thought of getting 18 in town is mighty tempting. Plus I'd like to know that I can drive my vehicle for a while after it's paid off. I have about $10K of student loans to pay off also so that must be done.

Thanks for the help.

Ag

My 98 is getting 21 mpg, with the 3.4 and an auto. And that's just running back and forth to work. Just checked it last week. I have a tonno cover and LO hubs which both help. My ride to work is up and down the hills here in PA.

I get about 16-17 mpg in my '02 Tacoma which costs me about $48 to fill up completely. 3.4L 4wd on 33's too. When I had 28" Dunlop street tires on the stock rims I was getting around 21 mpg too. AND it's a doublecab = more weight

In the past week gas has dropped a few cents in WV from 284.9 to 2.79.9 so if I ran out and filled it all the way I would be paying around $51.00. I try not to let it get to low so that it doesn't hurt so bad to fill it. I usually don't let it get much below a quarter tank and less than $30.00 will do it.
I know some of you don't let the price of gas bother you but I find my driving habits have changed and don't go more than I have to or at least I make the trip to the store count. Also has me spending more time cleaning and playing with my Tacoma. I'm becoming an expert detailer and my 01 looks like the day it came off th show room floor. It's fun when your in no hurry and can clean every little speck of dirt,Lol. Mike
