Cornfed question

Hi guys I almost have decided to go with Cornfed to get some lift. I saw this pic on their website and can't get anyone to respond to my email. Can anyone look at this pic and tell me exactly what I need to get my vehicle to look like this. i like the wheels, tires, and height. As always any help will be appreciated.

Luckily, I know the past owner of that truck. I'm pretty sure it has a 5 inch body lift. I'll email him and see if he will chime in. Also, I'm Cornfed's authorized dealer now.

I love that runner. i saw it and was blown away. It didn't know you carried Cornfed stuff. I'll just buy it through you then. Do they have a kit to get it up 5"? I always thought the cut off was 3".

That "was" Josh's 4Runner, he sold it years ago. It has a 3" Body lift and 2.5" front spacers and 2" rear spacers, because at the time CB did not make 2.5" rear 4Runner spacers.

285/75/16 Swampers on 3.5" BS wheels. He never did get the tires to Balance.

Here he is.............

That's it. That's the one. No way.

Holy cow. I can't believe you guys found it. That is pretty impressive. Ok. So don't make fun of me cause I just don't get tire sizes. I always thought it was cut and dry but I'm confused. His tires seem huge. like they are actually contributing to the height of the vehicle. But if that is the correct size as labeled on the top pic that's not that big is it? What are guys talking about when they say they have 33's wouldnt that be way bigger than those. Also I want the tires to stick out some. They way mine is stock the tires disappear in the wheel well( too, too soccer-mom). Help, I'm challenged when it comes to this stuff. Jason i just checked out your site and saw the Cornfed stuff. I noticed it was for the 03+. Do you have any for the 02's? Thanks so much you guys. Any help is always appreciated. I will start posting pics of my ride as soon as it starts taking shape.

im getting misty over here seeing all these videos and pictures of my old truck! Yes the truck was mine. Yes I sold it 2 years ago (maybe more now).

Steve was right on most accounts. It had a 3 inch body lift and 2 1/2 inch spacers all the way around (the 2.5 rears were out then Steve ;-) ) The tires were 33x12.5R16 Super Swamper SSRs. The rim was a Mickey Thompson Classic II 16x8 with 3 3/16s backspacing. Came out absolutely perfect in the end except as Steve mentioned, I returned 3 of those tires because they were egg shaped and I never was able to get them balanced out right. 2 sets later and the current owner is having the same problem.
If you need any other pictures of it just let me know. Ive got a million. Although some of these on here I dont even remember seeing!

Youve got a good memory for an old hippy, Steve!

-Just a quick plug for Sonoran Steel and Steve... His bumpstops and shackle hangars are on that truck and to this day they still look and work exactly as they did when I bought it originally.

oh yeah and Jason's clear corners are on there too. They are the only corners I got that didnt take on water like a fish tank... But then, I always did have an affinity for the water.

Quick advice... ask the questions now and spend the money now so you dont spend more later.

Hey Mallrat

Thanks for logging on and giving me the scoop on your ride. The minute I saw it I knew that was how I wanted mine to look. The problem I have is that I don't know enough about any of this stuff to communicate it. So let me ask you. It sounds like these tires are the most practical in the world as they tend to egg. Can you recommend a tire that has a similar look that is fairly economical and long lasting. I'm on the pavement 90 percent of the time and off of it the other 10. I know I want to go with the Cornfed suspension lift. As far as the body lift goes, I'm having a mechanic friend of mine handle that. How much adjustment work is he gonna have to do to make it work? Also, wondering if you have a pic of your old ride from the front? I'm looking to see how far your tires stick out. I don't know if you read in the previous reply, but I want them to stick out fairly far as my stock tires are the opposite, recessed. Thanks so much man for all your and everybody elses help. I know its a pain to answer all this stuff time and time again from us newbies. I just like to here it straight from the horses' mouth as it fits my application.

ask and ye shall receive..

That is a picture showing the rear tire and how far out from the limited flare it sits.

dont worry about being able to communicate with us.. Just try and sound it out and we'll figure it out. As far a tires go, I loved the swampers and got used the out of balance feel, but if you want to keep the tires closer to stock feeling you should consider some Pro Comp X-Terrains or Goodyear MT/rs. Dont let people talk you out of what you want. If you want the look of a mud tire you need to get a mud tire. No all terrain is gonna look the same. It seems like you want form over function anyway, which is an ok way to start out. As for adapting the body lift, I believe that Roger Brown now makes a 2 inch for the 3rd gen runners that requires nothing but the parts he includes. For mine, I used a 3 inch Performance Accessories body lift for a Tacoma of the same year and we had to modify it some to fit the front bumper back on. If you do a search on body lift and 3rd gen you will get plenty of hits Im sure.

Feel free to email me if youd like. Ill be in town for another day or two and then its back to Iraq for a while. Not sure what type of access ill have out there.

Thanks so much Mallrat

Mallrat thanks for everything man. I didn't know you were a soldier. Is that why you sold your ride? Good luck over there and be safe. We appreciate you doing what your doing.

One more question Mallrat. What do you mean when you say "The tires were 33x12.5R16 Super Swamper SSRs. The rim was a Mickey Thompson Classic II 16x8 with 3 3/16s backspacing". What does 3 3/16s backspacing mean? Sorry. I know I'm lame. Also could you or any of the other guys here recommend a good place to get tires online. Trying to save as much money as I can. Thanks again ya'll.
