cornfed question
i just got my cornfeds in the mail today and have a few questions. i bought the back ones used and need a quick run down on how to install them. i have a 3rd gen by the way. im sure its not hard but i just want to know what to expect. also, i ordered 2" front spacers from cornfed.....my question is how thick are they supposed to be? i measured them and they are 1 1/4" thick.......thats supposed to give me 2" of lift right? thanks for the help in advance!

I'm not sure, but I have 1.5', and I think the rear spacers were at least an inch, if not an inch and a half. The fronts will be smaller than the final lift because of the geometry of it all, but I think with the back what you see is what you get. Again, not positive.
As for getting the back ones on, jack your car up, support the axel, take off the wheels, lower the axel a bit and compress the coil enough to get the spacer on top of it. That was all mine took. Then again, dan_90 did most of it for me. But thats what I remember. if you have bigger tires, you will need several bricks under your jack unless you have a pretty big garage jack, the factory one is essentially garbage.

Installing the rear is a piece of cake. Here is the short and sweet version. Basically you:
1. Remove the wheels.
2. Disconnect the sway bar.
3. Disconnect the bottom shock mounts.
4. Put a floor jack under the drum on Driver's side.
5. Put a jackstand somewhere near the middle of the axle.
6. Have someone help you by pushing down on the Passenger side. Be careful not to harm the brake lines.
7. That will create enough slack in the pass side spring. Remove it.
8. Place the spacer on top of the spring and while someone pushes down on that side reinstall the spring and spacer together.
9. Put the jack under the pass side drum and repeat the proceedure for the the spring and spacer on the driver's side.
10. Reinstall the lower shock mount bolts.
11. Reinstall the swaybar.
12. Done
Also, as I understand, because you are lifting the front and there is a single pivot point (unlike the rear), you are lifting a lever. That lever moves different amounts depending upon the distance from the pivot point. So, a 1.25" movement part way down the lever (at the coilover) could translate into a 2" lift at the wheel.
