Converting P285/75/R16 to Inches
how do you convert P285/75/R16 to inches in tires? I beleive this is 33inches maybe? how do you get that conversion? Thanks

285mm is the width
75% of the width equals the height of one sidewall (still in mm)
16 is obviously the rim diameter. (in inches)
(((Width*%)*2)/25.4)+ Rim size= tire height in inches
so, it works out like this: (285*0.75)2 is the rubber parts, then convert that to inches using google and add the 16" rim.

Best to go to the tire manufacturers site and look up the measurements. Even though metric sizing seems exact, all tire companies don't do so well at consistency. Some 285s are bigger than others. It can vary a LOT! When I bought the last set of 265/70R17s for the Ftruck, Generals were one full inch shorter than the Dunlops I bought when we stood them side by side!
But yeah, generally speaking a 285/75R16 would a 33x11.50
