Hi all,

I just bought a OEM clutch kit for my 2000 SR5 4Runner.
Any pointers on the installation??? Is this something I can do,
or should I take it to a professional.
I know I should get the flywheel resurfaced...
Do you guys know where I can get this done??? I'm in the NYC area.
Anyway, once I receive the kit I'll see what other questions I have.

any pointers will be appreciated.

If you have basic mechanical knowledge and have done other work on vehicles then replacing a clutch isn't very difficult. I don't know specifically about the 3rd gen, I've only replaced a clutch on a 2nd gen. Some problems I encountered were, the upper bolts conecting the bell housing and engine are not easy to get at, and the combined transmission and transfer case are heavy and awkward.

Today I finally installed my new OEM clutch kit on a resurfaced flywheel.
The only differences I noticed is that the clutch pedal is very soft.
Do I need to break in my new clutch??? If so how??
I'm also waiting for my tranny fluid (Redline MT-90) to put in my tranny.

Just wanted to keep you all in the loop.

1. If the clutch was worn and hard to push previously, the new clutch will feel softer.

2. You should go easy on the new clutch for the first 500 miles of city driving or so.
