i have heard and also read that I am able to put 99 4Runner coil springs on my 97 4Runner. I know the front has 9 wraps on the 99 model and the 97 only has 8. Is this the same for the rear coils as well or is it just good for the front. also... if the 99 rear coils are higher will they work on my 97 as well as the front???

measure the diameter of the coil and be sure they seat in the same fashion if so then you shoud have no issues!!

I ordered a fresh set of '99 coils(V6, auto tranny, 4WD) at the same time that I installed Bilstein HD shocks back in '03 or so. It made a nice change, visually.

The '99 was the only year they made these "tall" coils but they will fit fine on all other 3rd gen years. They should also work with your stock coils but will sugguest new shocks like aow mentioned...

oh, and no one wants your crappy tall coils 99runner lol

But how much is the actual lift from the new coils? I have a '97 with new shocks and struts (thanks to AOW) but before I do the '99 coil change I'd love to know whether it will give an 1" or more (cool) or 1/4" (waste of time and money).

So anyone know the actual change after the coils are compressed from the weight of the truck?

im wanting to do this to. i have a 97 2wd. ive on sonoran steel that there is some kind of 2wd rear fix to make this work...anybody know what this is? how much lift wud these approx give me?

actually not every '99 had the tall coils so check your stuff. make sure they do have 9 wraps. they should give roughly 1" of lift but dont quote me on that

From the sonoran steel website.. "RAW DATA: This kit lifted a 2001 2WD 4Runner 2 5/8" over stock. 1996-97 4WD 1" lift, 2000-02 4WD 1" lift, 1998 4WD 1/2" or so lift, 1999 4WD no lift." I do not know what the rear-fix for the 2wd is. Just e-mail him, they are pretty quick with responses.

and by the way.. I got rid of mine a while back, just keep at it and i don't see whats so wrong with the gold emblems, I like 'em.

i asked about the 2wd fix but wouldnt give answer unless i purchased the actual lift kit. so that stinks cause right now im just trying to get my research together. so if anyone knows please chime in.
