Chrome Exhaust Tip
When i got my Vortex put on at Seeburg I just used a cheap chrome tailpipe/tip they had on the shelf and its starting to rust really bad inside of it so I'm looking for one that looks really good and that won't rust...atleast not for a long time. The one I've got now rusted after a day.
I looked on www.trdusa.com and I couldn't find any. I know I've seen them.
The thing I'm looking for isn't just a small chrome tip, I'd like it to be about a foot to a foot and a half long so that it will take up the whole side of the trailer hitch. I can get specific measurements from the one that I've got if I end up finding a good source for them.
I've been doing some Googling and stuff and haven't really found much.
Thanks!
Fink

chrome will always rust, esp. on exaust. Stainless steel lasts alot longer and is harder to rust check around the different custom auto places....I know they have a huge slection at Tennessee Speed Sport here.

Anybody have a clue the dimensions of that thing? I like the look of the tip going the whole length of the trailer hitch, looking from the side of course. Is the pipe size the same on the newer models as it is on my '99?
Those look perfect though! I wish it said TRD, lol.

Lol, its not the bling I'm going after, just the clean look of a rust free tailpipe. It's amazing, against a nice clean black rig the rusty tailpipe draws your attention more than anything.
Geoff,
Thats what I had put on my 3rd gen, just about 12" longer than the one on the 2nd gen and for some reason the one I have rusted in a day...crazy!
I'm thinking about just going with the Magnaflow ones that I found...we'll see!

i think they only way would be to get very lucky and find one on ebay.
actually, i just thought of something. what if you called TRD and asked for a replacement tip for their cat-backs. think that would work? wonder how much they would want for it...

I called TRD and the only ones they had for replacement parts were 8" round, square and oval tips...so I ordered a tip from A-1 Performance parts online. It's an 18" stainless steel tip...looks AWESOME! I talked to Jason B. and he said to watch out for stainless tips as they can sometimes change color so I'll keep an eye on it and see. I'll let you know what happens, Jason also suggested that I coat it with car wax every other week or so to keep the shine/bling. So I'll probably do that.
I'll see if I can snap a pic of it and post it.
