Chirping sound in rear end

Hello everyone- I have a "Chirping" sound in my right rear end of my 02 Taco every time I go over a bump in the road and this chirping is very noticeable. I just got it back from the stealership and they can hear it but are unable to locate it. If I jack my right rear end up so that the tire is just off the ground and take a rubber mallet and hit the tire I can hear this chirp everytime I do this. The stealership tightened up every bolt possible and greased the leaf springs and all of this without success. Any thoughts?????

Actually sounds like a bushing squeak.

same thing happened to me

the same thing happened to me when i installed my aals. The result of my situation was that the lower part of the shocks where its mounted by a screw that goes horizontal through the mounts on the truck and the mounts on the shocks, did not have a bolt on the other side to secure it!!!!!! VERY SCARY! I took it back to the shop i did it at and they realized it and fixed it! Since u brought it to a dealership, its pretty hard that they will miss that, but people do make mistakes! Hopefully its that, that way you can fix it yourself-real quick too!! GOODLUCk!

Let us know what your conclusion is!

(No Sway bar on a Taco)

Check the drum lever adjusting nut on the back side of the backing plate at the cable. Move it around and see if that's the sound you are hearing.

You know I have the same problem and its on a 4runner. And since tacos and runners have different rear ends I am even more confused now. I can't find it either. I changed the front bushings and I still get the chirp. Weird. If anyone has any ideas please let you know and end this madness
