Chevy v6 or v8 into yota

I used to know of a web-site that was called hybrid.com or something that spoke of putting the chevy 4.3 in Toyotas....maybe the v8 also, but can't find it. Any ideas or pages?

My brother has a 89 Toyota p/u 4x4 that the engine maybe on its last leg and was considering something like this.

Anyone done this to their rig or heard of someone doing it?

Thanks,
Wily

A while back, there was a guy from Australia that put a small block Ford V8 into his 2nd gen 4Runner. It looked factory. If I can rememeber where I saw it I will post it.

I saw a guy in some offroad magazine I was looking at in a gas station who put a LT1 Corvette engine in a 93 Tacoma. Mmmm... wouldn't that be nice!

I briefly had an '83 Toyota Pickup with a bad 22R. I was going to swap it with a 4.3 Vortec V6, but, as expensive as it would have been, I ended spending the money on my 96. The originaly plan ws to sell the 96, modify the 83 to a wicked off road machine and buy a Supra. That was the plan...
I sold the 83, kept the 4Runner, modified it, bought a Ford Escort for commuting, and here I am. Now I've got a good off-road machine with near Supra power.

I can offer a great link to a company that specializes in engine swaps:
Advance Adapters

I ordered manual from them when I had the 83. Very detailed, and it tells you everything you need. Very nice.

I would never put a Chev engine in anything!! If I would swap an amercian engine, it would be a Ford. But that's just my opinion

Lot's of people have done it, it's pretty common. I think there's even kits available. Google it, you find something.

The holy grail, though, is swapping in the 3.4L toyota engine. There's a how-to article about it on 4x4wire.

I would search for you now, but I'm at work.
