check eng light on 86runner

My check engine light comes on during normal driving in the city or hwy generally after I let off and then get right back on the gas the it goes out I have not checked for any codes nor am I sure If you can on this but I assume it is some sort of lean condition anybody had this problem ? this is not my DD so I am up to try what ever. thanks in advance.

I'm betting an O2 sensor...I'd take it to a shop that can pull the code and see for sure, but I bet that's what it is.

Pull the code yourself, it is really easy to do.

Talk to me how do I pull the code? I am a decent mech but I dont mess with computer controled stuff very often.

Um, like did you read the page I posted a link to? If so, it has the details.

In summary, use one of these Special Service Tools:



Tip: A metal one works much better than a plastic one.

Insert it into the diagnostic plug, either the type as shown on the page I posted or this one on the driver's side fender (connector circled in cyan):
