Cheapest downey coils
im wanting to fix the sag in the rear and i know this has been discused a million times but the search is janked and i was wondering wheres the cheapest place i can get a set of downey coils, or if there are any other brands that you prefer over them please throw them out. Sorry to bring this topic back up.:pat:

I went with the Downey 1.5" HD coils and it fixed my sag and now my rig is sittin PERFECTLY flat!
It was mid 300's, installation included...im sure there are cheaper ones but I have no experience with those.

keep in mind id be cheaper if you installed it yourself
. its not too hard. i think , if i remember correctly, you can get the coils direct from downey for 170 or so.....but dont quote me on that. might wanna talk with mike at extreme offroad

I got mine from Downey direct for 170 + shipping. It turns out the total price was only 221 including installation. I dunno where I got 300+ from...

where do i find those and do i install them ontop of mine now? or replace them fully?

Cheapest Downey coils are gonna come from Downey, they won't let anyone else sell them. Now, cheapest coils probably come from someone else since in my experience, Downey is overpriced and underqualitied (is that a word? Who cares?).

I have yet to have a problem with my HDs and I'm sure there is many others that haven't had any problems with theirs either.
With the coils, you get the coils, two drop brackets, and an extended brake line. For $170 + shipping, that doesn't sound like too bad a deal to me.

What does a pair of 91 - 97 Fj80 coils cost?
On the allpro site they sell a 5.5" coil that fits the 4Runners. They say "Origionaly designed for 1991 - 1997 FJ-80 land cruisers, these coils also do a great job of lifting 4Runners too. Provides 5.5" of rear lift. $149 pair." Now wouldn't factory Fj80 coils give you 1.5" of lift. Or is this what Downey sells as there own?
If they did have the abillity to build there own then why wouldn't they have more lift options like 3,4 or 5"

Anyhow, keep in mind that price of $170 for the kit was their old pricing...A couple months ago they went through an increase so you are bound to spend a little more on the Downey's regardless if you get them through Downey or a dealer.
As far as spring quality, I have never had any complaints on their 1.5" HD coils, everyone seems to be very pleased with them.

Zero sag from them after all these years, and one of the best mods to "adjust" the attitude and altitude of your saggy rig.

Just got off the phone with Central 4WD and the guy said the Downey Kit is 159.99 will take roughly a week to get here (Tennessee) and is about $25 for shipping all the way out here. Sounds good for me. I'll likely buy them tomorrow when i get a chance.

You definitely need them... buying them serparate (if the AllPro doesnt come with them) is more than getting the whole Downey kit when its all said and done. Does anyone know if that link i posted above from Central 4WD the Normal HD coils from Downey? They look different for some reason.
