changing my spark plugs

ok guys i need a little help with changing my spark plugs on my 3.4. what do i need to remove to get down to the plugs and do you guys have suggestions on how to get them out. also i hear NGK plugs are the best for yota's is that right?
so yeah any help would be greatly appreciated and pics would be great. thanks alot -Chris

NGKs are oe...
On my 96 3.4 the plugs are easy, I just had to pull the plug boots on the drivers side and use a (5/8, I think it was) plug socket (has rubber thing inside to grip plug) w/extension to get the plugs out...there were a couple of small things I unbolted above the plugs for easier access.
On the other side just unbolt the coils over each plug and pull them out.
Don't forget the anti-sieze.

i couldnt find any for my engine i wasnt sure if there was something harder cause i just changed some on a 4cyl 1st gen and that was easy

no its fairly easy.

just get the right plugs and new wires(if you want) and some anit-seize.

you should of used anti seize on your 4cyl.

its my buddies 4cyl.... so what does it do. should i get wires, would it make a difference

I know there are threads about wires and plugs.

That has to be the quote of the day!

To answer the question you will need some new plugs (get the OEM NGKs form the dealer), some anti-seize (brush onto the threads only!!!!) and a decent tune up wrench set.

spark plugs

Go with OEM , plugs are not that pocket draining .
The driver's side is easy to do, carefully remove the boots and use 5/8 spark plug socket. Make sure the boot goes on all the way.
On the pass. side remove only what's necessary to gain access, it looks harder than it is. 10mm socket will remove each coil pack ( 1 at a time) . When replacing the coil, just make sure it sitting down all the way ( it is just a spring contact). Factory plugs come pre gapped . Will take about 1hr. 1 1/2 to do.
don't mean to add confusion but, do not use anti seize . It will add resistance to the ground path for spark plug and you may get radio interferance feedback b/c of it. Just make sure you do not over tighten the plug. good luck
Toyota plug wires last quite along time.

That is quite incorrect.....anti-seize is very conductive (hence why you don't want it anywhere but the threads).
You only need a little bit and just on the threads only.

Curious. Anyone else of the no anti-sieze opinion? Isn't that school of thought pertaining to high performance applications? I use it and have not had problem with radio interference when using a resistor plug. Is there a, or a big enough, difference in spark to make not using it worth the risk of the plug siezing in there so's I can't get it out? Odd, seeing as anti-sieze has metals in the compound. I guess it's the oil portion?
Not trying to start anything and not changing my use of anti-sieze, just a curious newb.

Also, start your plugs by hand (using extension) so you don't cross thread and you have to be just as carefull not to overtighten with anti-sieze as without. NGK can be found at good parts stores, as well as the dealership.

Any advice on how to get to the spark plugs on a 4runner with a supercharger? I think I can see the driver side spark plugs but can not see the other side. Do I need to remove the SC top?

maybe you can use 3-4 extensions?

is it a problem if the plugs that are in the truck now have two prongs and the NGK's have one.
