ok my truck had the cel light come on and it was a code 7, TPS. i checked it it was fine and ive been having no problems except my truck seems to run a bit rich but its always done that and then it went out, i didnt disconnect the battery either it just went out, any ideas?

Code 7 or do you mean 71? Anyhow, since it is intermitent, I'd pull the TPS off and clean it real well, they get real gummed up with carbon and become sticky, go to your nearest auto parts store and get yourself some TPS cleaner, don't use carb cleaner as this has a tendency to eat TPS's? (Serious!) Also, get some carb cleaner and clean your t-body real good, your problems should be cured! Don't forget to respec your TPS after you put it back on and remove the efi fuse and/or battery cable to clear the codes.

The reason it went out is that it passed its own history fail record. For certain codes it can be reset after 1 ignitions, 3 passed ign., or 7 passed ign. Thats the way the OBD2 equiped vehicles are supposed to work.
