cel 1135 2001 4runner it's not the MAF

The wife's 4runner is lighting up the dashboard. I ran the code and it came back as 1135. By searching on here, some say it's the MAF and some say the o2 sensor.

The maf in my es300 is the same as the 4runner so i swapped it and she is still getting the code. So it's the o2 sensor. But which one. Most of these vehicles have 2, 3, or 4 o2 sensors.

Anyone know exactly which one it is?

234-9002 seems to be the correct part # for the denso front o2 sensor for non cali.

Does anyone have the toyota part #?

Just so you know, by 2001 there were no more Cali. models, or, more precisely, all models for all states used the two-cat system with the air/fuel sensors before the cat that was previously the 'California' emissions system up through 2000. 234-9002 is the correct A/F (front) sensor for your truck. Buy some new nuts from the dealer unless you are sure yours are good; most of us have needed them. Tip: Amazon has a pretty good price on this sensor.

1135 is bad heater in an air fuel sensor

this is the front sensor, before the cat

as indicated, obtain new nuts and also a gasket

Be sure to put a little Anti-seize on the nuts and bolts. It will make it allot easier if you ever have to swap it out again.

If you get the Denso sensor from URD or Amazon, it should come with a new gasket (but no nuts).

Code 1135

My 2002 4runner had the same code twice. The check engine light went off after only 20 miles each time and it runs fine. The first time it came on was when I towed my pop-up for the first time and then went off. The second time was when I was stuck and spinned alittle on some ice and then went back off. My mechanic said I should replace it but it will cost about $200. What do you guys think? Any input would be great. Thanks
