cd changer question

Is there a fix to a factory cd changer that says "err 1"? I have used a cd cleaner to try to fix it, but it did not work. I just want to make sure there's nothing I can do before I purchase a new one.

Thanks,
Glenn

I get Error 1 mostly on burned CD-Rs. However, my wifes Rav4 seems to error out if any CD is slightly scratched -- I contribute it to being worn out. Your CD may work just fine in other players.

One thing I do is insert the CD and if 0:00 doesnt come up immediately (as it should), I hit up the track up/down button and see if I can play another track. Sometimes if it starts playing one track I can go back to another and it will then play. Still kinda annoying...
