Cargo box mock up.
well Ive been thinking of making a cargo box / Sleeper top for my 4Runner.. Im not an artist nor a carpenter.. so I took some numbers and started playing around in photoshop.. I set everything to a grid.. of .1 inches. Everthing is drawn out in inches, so on my Graphic my scale should be .1 = 1 inch..
I didnt leave the grid in on this picture but wanted your thoughts on how you think this would look?
This is stage 1 and Im gonna work on it some more.. but I had 30 mins to play around with it..

If you want it to last a while, use MDF all the way. I will be rebuilding my cargo box in the near future with MDF. My current box uses plywood and pine boards. They both warp very easy. Especially in humid environments.

30" for the fold out section? Is it doubled? I'm asking because your sketch show 14.5" (I think) for the part that folds, if I'm looking at it right?
I've been thinking about this same thing myself.
Good luck and take plenty of pics, please.

Been there, done that....I love my cargo box, search around and you could probably dig up the thread with pics. I built an extension (not shown in the original thread) that installs in a few moments, and made a great bed during my trip to Alaska. Since you're in AZ, I doubt you'll have to worry about the plywood warping. C'mon, if its that humid you'll have mold growing on your seats!

Just what I was thinking Ronn.
We have to talk about this on the weekend.
BTW... Tonight Charles dropped your WAAG off at my house.
It is a pretty big box, but looks to be nicely packed!
See you Saturday.

Thank You's to both Charles and SkyRat in helping me and the waag bar get closer.
Im wondering if my cousin and I can hook it up b4 or after the runs on saturday? Guess I'll play it by ear.
