looks completely authentic to me. but then again i've only been in the "truck business" for 2 months now. i can't wait to have as much knowledge asyou guys have, to just be able to look at anything and start discussing it. i'm jealous. well, i guess everyone has to start somewhere though.

Yep, that's exactly what I noticed too. It's probably not fake, it's probably "Timmy's Racing Development," it's just that they're infringing on trademark. As far as the actual quality of the intake, it's probably just as good as any K&N bolt on, but definitely no TOYOTA R.D. licensed product.

Wouldn't surprise me if it's quite real. The Toyota dealership near me has all sorts of useless "bling" with TRD on it. Mud flaps, floor mats, shift knobs, etc. And I'm pretty sure this air filter unit is hanging on their wall.
The TRD official web page uses TRD Racing Development, not Toyota Racing Development. The logo on the TRD official web page is idential with just the two stripes.

Dang, I just bought one of these and installed it last week. I didn't realize it was a fake. It's still a good filter and I noticed better acceleration but I was totally fooled. I got fooled on ebaby before for some playstation controllers that I thought were real...

At least the TRD stickers are a dead on replica plus $20 a pair shipped isn't so silly when the dealer wants $100 a pair and they add the same horsepower as the "fake" ones.
