I was wondering does anyone sell a kit or can you buy the nut plates so can you just drill holes and get a tire carrier and rear hatch from a 2nd gen that had one factory and put it on your vehicle?

I purchased an under the vechicle Toyota carrier off of E-bay and moved my spare under the truck - I haul my camper, boat or utility trailer quite often.
I am thinking about mounting a metal tool box to the swing away tire carrier.
I would purchase the Toyota carrier from a junk yard or maybe from the classifieds here. I've looked at mine several different times and I do not
think that it would be a huge ordeal to add it to your 4-runner. Make sure that you get the backing plates that go inside -when you purchase !

Thanks for the info.
I found the link to the mod. http://www.trailtoys.com/rockrunner/...rier/tire.html
I would probably add a set of mounts for my jack all and probably a mount for a antenna to it.

Rear Tire Carrier
Seems to be a straightforward retrofit, but I'd make sure I have adequate reinforcement behind the sheet metal. Perhaps you could find someone who has an OEM one from the factory and check it out from the inside.
Nice work you've done to the truck as chronolized on your web page. I'm surprised you still fit in the parking garage...
