Calling all ARB Bumper Owners on a 3rd Gen

Question on if your front suspension drooped/dropped any or much immediately after install and if you have seen any droop/drop after time with it. I'm thinking of getting the ARB and is heavier than the stock fatlip bumper on my '00. Wondering if I need to get a 1/2 inch spacer for the front to compensate for any drop.

If it makes any difference I have the Tundra TRD coils up front. Don't know if that matter between Stock, TRD, or OME.

Thanks..

Luis

Why not just wait and see, and if it does drop, put the spacer in. They are easy enough to do. I can imagine it dropping a little bit though!

Well, if it drops a lot I might go a different way, something lighter, maybe custom.

you're going to see an immediate drop, not much though. put a 10 year old on the front of the hood and see what happens, more or less the same effect. you are undoubtedly going to see long term drooping as well, i'd say about .5-1" over the next year with it on.

What the man says is true, are you planning on adding a winch and or new skid plates?

It will drop a bit right when you put the bumper on, but not a whole lot. You will notice it when you're driving around though. For me (TJM bumper... not ARB, but similar weight), the front would feel really heavy when going over bumps until I upgraded my suspension. I also had a Warn M8000 winch on there though.

Can't you upgrade to stiffer coils to offset the droop in the front? That's the way I would go.

My Tacoma ARB bumper has drooped the front wheel clearance about 1/4 inch since my 881s were put in. Was more significant on the stock 99 coils

Oops... I read the original post again. I hadn't seen that you had Tundra coils up front. You should be fine without spacers even with the new bumper.
