Caliper Help 4runner
I just installed a left caliper in my 4runner and have 2 questions.
In the box the caliper came in were 2 copper o ring/crush washers that I usually associate with banjo fittings.
What are these for? I did not see a place to use them.
Also I used 16 oz. of brake fluid when bleeding and still do not have a firm pedal.
Do these calipers hold that much fluid?
thanks

when you took off the old caliper did you plug the line so the fluid didnt empty out?
or did you let the master cylinder empty out?
if thats the case youll need to bleed the entire system including the master cyl itself.

well if you still dont have a firm pedal you either have a leak somewhere (mabye internally in the mc) or you have a vacuum leak in your brake booster or you still have air in the lines somwhere. thats all i can think of right now

I got BRAKES! Turns out the generic metric brake line I bought that goes from the caliper to the hose was not quite the right one. It wasn't leaking fluid, but it must have been letting air in. I ordered some OEM one's from my dealer ($8.00 ea.) and the problem was solved.
thanks for the help
