I have a 2000 4runner with an Elocker (which currently does not work because the actuator motor is toast) and I am looking for a cable or manual mechanism to replace the actuator motor any help? I think Downey Off Road used to make some, but it seems like they are out of business? Any one else out their making any? I have been unable to find a motor....

Whats wrong with the motor? I thought mine was screwed, but there's really nothing that can break on these things. Mine didn't work for over a year. About an hour of fiddling with it and it was good as new, probably better.

Nice work!! It might be a litte too much for me. I don't have or really have ever done much with a welder or really with metal of any sorts. I remember seeing a manufactuerd one somewhere that was simular but involved taking the motor off and replacing it with the commercial pieces. Their has to be a company out their making this thing still.

Where's the gear at? It's missing in the pic. If it's gone or fallen into the diff, the motor is junk and you probably have a bigger problem on your hands.

But I still think that motor is salvagable. Just fix the hole with fiberglass.

There's a thread on TTORA where a guy fixed a hole in his and refubished it to run perfectly.

Its hard to see the gear in the photo, but its their. Over time water got into the housing and as I was cleaning it I made a hole and rust water poured out, I think the gear is seized up and no longer works and the unit is too rusted to take anything apart to fix it. I am just afraid that if I get it apart I will destroy it in the process and then be forced into buying a new motor from toyota at $800 bones...
