A/C system Surf still good after 10 years?
I was wondering if the A/C system of a 1993 surf is still sound after a decade. Can it be that all hoses and seals need replacement after a this amount of time? It could very well be just a loose joint and I don't want to pay for a full replacement of all that can me replaced if 10 years is relatively young and there should be no (R12) leakage at all.
BTW: What should I see in that little round inspection window on that cilindrical filter (?) in near the radiator?

I don't think you should see anything. But, if you see air bubbles, then I think it's time for a recharge. Don't quote me on this as I can't really remember which way it works..

I don't see why not. I had to have $700 worth of repairs 2 years ago on my Runner but my 1990 nissan's a/c has never been touched and is still running great.

I solved it. The culprit was the new looking but leaking radiator. There was so much water/coolant evaporated the engine started to get too hot, causing the A/C not to switch on anymore after 10-20 minutes of driving.
