Were you able to push the bumper all the way to the top of the slots? Usually on a normal (non BL) vehicle we are able to push the bumper all the way up to the body but we set up a normal install with about 3/8" gap for body flex. The reason is that your bumper is mounted to the frame and the body moves somewhat independantly since it is on rubber mounts.

Yes,
Pics please! But there are a few ideas floating around here to help you if the fam doesn't figure something out for you. Years ago (can't remember who) thought up a great idea that used lattice from Home Depot to cover it up. I did this mod on my 98 and it worked pretty darn well. That said, with just a 1" body lift you shouldn't have much gap at all (if any) definitely not 1.5". Do a search and see if you can find anything about the lattice mod. Here are some pictures of my old rig with it done. FYI I had a 2" body lift and the TJM was set all the way up. The pictures were also taken soon after the install so the lattice was a bit brighter than the body, but soon after it became less apparent. Seeing as your truck looks black, that should be less of an issue (I hope).

As in you have a bumper or have one on order? We made custom brackets for additional cost.

About to install a 1" BL and want to avoid a gap at bumper. So new bumper brackets are required if the slot in the OE bracket won't close this gap??
