Bulletproof Windshield
Ok. I don't know about the rest of y'all, but my Runner's windshield apparently is a magnet for any kind of debris that can cause a crack. In the last year, I have had 3 cracks and I just got my 4th this morning on the way to work. It's just an inconvenience and $40~ that I would rather spend on 6th Street.
Does anyone know where I can purchase a windshield that is indestructable?

My brother works for a windshield place and he said pony up extra cash for a better windshield.
I think PPG makes them and those are pretty thick compared to the standard version that insurance companies pay for;they buy the cheapest one and don't offer the option but should cover a base cost and you pay the diff.
I got a PPG windshield for my Runner through my brother and it only cost me about $70 but that's supposed to be secret. The windshield business takes well over 100% profit from your insurance company.

Canada is a very different story!
If you have the insurance pay for it they mark it the same as an accident !!!!!!
I found that out the hard way and now pay for everything out of pocket.

On my Pathfinder, PPG had two options on windows. I got the more expensive one. I don't remember the difference, but it must have ben significant enough..lol
My insurance charges me a $50 deductible on my glass claims.

PPG by far. I live around the PPG plants here in PA and they put a lot of emphasis on their quality. I have a LOF (now Pilkerton) and it cracked on me again. The next sheild will be a PPG. My sisters beretta is the original and its a 89.

Here in WY we go through LOTS of windshields....I have started to ask the glass shop for 'seconds' or 'blems', I have never been able to see why they are not first quality and the price is WAY lower.

I sware that bug shields help deflect rocks. I have gone over Mt. Hood in Oregon tons of times and have gotten passed by big trucks throwing tons of rocks and I have made it out without a crack. Seems like they work better for rocks than bugs.

Maybe i am the only scammer but i live near a cement plant and when anybody around here gets a chip or crack in their windshield we just grab a tag number from one of the trucks and take it into their office. They are pretty cool about it too.
