Braking and ABS sensor
I have a 2002 4Runner sport edition and am having some issues that I am hoping you might know about. There are 90k miles and we just replaced the transmission, thermostat and front brakes. Nice huh. Since the beg. of the year whenever I am driving in a downhill right bend in the road the ABS sensor goes off - beeps. On occassion the brakes will lock up and put us in a fishtail. We can be going at any speed. Most recently we were going uphill on a left bend and the sensor and brakes went off. It is quite scary. I took it to Toyota and they hooked it up to the computer and couldn't find anything wrong. I told them that they would not be able to duplicate the problem since we live in the mountains and Toyota is in the flat land. I asked a few people and they thought it could be the cv boots or ball joint or axel. I called Toyota again to go there tomorrow (we live 1.5 hrs away from Toyota) hoping that they can figure this out again. Sorry for the long post but I wanted to give a bit of detail to see if anyone knows what the heck is going on. Any suggestions I could take to Toyota would be appreciated! Thanks.
