Brake problems

I just received this email from my web page. What do you guys think? It is sounding like condensation or water in his brake lines????

This guys has a 99 4Runner limited.
*************
Lately with these colder nights (single digits, teens) I have found
that my
4Runner's brakes seem to freeze up, needing alittle more gas in the
drive-way to get the vehicle rolling. This morning it was the same and
then when I went to stop at my stop sign (100ft from my driveway) it
was
similar to loosing power brakes or braking with the vehicle off, had to
really get into the pedal to stop. It worked itself out of it and a
1/4
mile down the road no problems, stop light no problems, parking at work
no
problems. Only the first one or two braking situations in the
mornings.
**************

Thanks for your advice. I will direct him to the board in my reply to him.

sgirt,

my mom had that problem in her camry many years ago. i looked through her mechanic service records. didn't change out the brake fluid for over 5 years. turns out it was old brake fluid. i dont know if there was any condensation in the lines or air bubbles for that matter, but once changed, she didn't have braking issues on the cold mornings
