Brake light bulbs

how come i burn out brake light bulbs all the time? i swear i go through them every other month.

Hmmmm.....strange.

I'm sure you're not touching the bulbs with ur fingers right?

Check the wiring, if that's ok, maybe the housing is dirty?

That's the only things I could think of.

It's a common problem in 96-00 4Runners, thats why in the 01-02 models, they changed the wiring harness. I have not had a problem withy my tailight bulbs going out on me.

I just replaced my left tail light today. I've replaced the right one either once or twice in the last 2.5 years.

wierd...my 96 never blew a bulb and i switched over to the 99 tails last year with no harness and still no blowout...

I keep records of my maintanance and I change tail bulbs R & L about every 6 months... I see Runners (3rd gen) with burnt out tails ALL the time. So the new harness is the fix?

I haven't blown a bulb yet either in my 96.

My mom's 91 has blown the left tail light about 6 times over the
past couple of years. The right side has never been touched. I have
always wondered if anyone else had that problem.
