body swap question
(i posted in both fourms to feed from everybodys experience)
hello, and thanks in advance for the help. i have a 1990 toyota pickup that has 250k and a bad engine and manual tranny, i purchased a rolled 1999 4 runner with the 3.4 auto, with all intent to o the 3.4 swap. after digging into it the swap looks a little difficult and moreso it will be going into a vehicle with 250k on it, so i pose the question: how difficult would it be to put the cab and box from the 1990 pickup onto the 1999 4 runner, the frames look simular to me but i have removed neither body. i know that the engine swap isnt that bad, but i would gain so much this way, the 4 runner has ac cruise and an auto for the wife all which the pickup doesnt, also the 4 runner is sittn at 70k so the drivetrain components have plenty of life left in them. any help or advise is greatlly appreciated. just curious if anybody has done one of these before or heard of someone doing it...thanks again

It would be allot easier to swap the motor. you would have a storm of chassis wiring to do.. plus custom body mounts and finding some way to make the wheelbase fit.

Irbis offroad did the same thing but with a first gen.
You get a better front suspension in the process. Expect A LOT of custom stuff though
