Body lift and Manual Transmission?

So i installed my RB 2'' body lift today and after it was all done my shifter wouldnt shift. I could only get it into first gear. Not even neutral. I took the leather boot and plastic moulding off and revealed another rubber boot in a metal housing. I unscrewed it and it seems that my shifter was hitting the metal housing. Now it shifts into all gears fine but i have a hole from my cab down to the transmission and under the car.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Next problem. The front bumper brackets only seem to provide one hole on each side for mounting the bumper baack on. Am i missing something? I might have it all wrong but if someone can provide me with pictures of how the brackets are supposed to go then that would be great.

Thanks!!

I'm not sure if it's the same on the newer Toyota's, but on my 92 PU I was able to grind down the metal plate under the shift boot and re-assemble everything with no problem and it shifted fine. You could also look into extending the shifters.

Talking Help

I got pics of my brackets at home as they are sitting on a shelf and they had 3 or 4 holes in them. All you are doing is shifting the OEM bumper up 2". You won't reuse all the OEM bolts though as putting on the brackets changes the angles and you can't, but there is no need.

As far as the auto tranny linkage goes there is a bolt on the underside of the rig that you might trying adjusting, as some have had to adjust it and others haven't. Seems like POBOY had some pics of how he adjusted it as I didn't have to, so I don't have any pics of doing such.

If you need some pics of my brackets, as I can look at them and tell you how they were on, once I get home tonight. Just let me know!

Good luck!

You need to extend your shifter 2" or bend them. If you don't mind spending more bucks, Marlin can make close shifter for you. I got it and it works great. I don't have to move to the next state to put in 5th anymore.

i think the only way the shifter thing willl work is if i grind the metal plate or bend the shifters.

As far as the bumper goes, i realize that it is moved up 2 inches and i will only have the 2 brackets holding it on but it still doesnt line up right. If i cant get it worked out ill post pics and see if it helps.
