Body Leveling?

I talked to the guy at my local 4x4 shop and he said that for me to try and level my 4runner with a 1.5 body lift in the front (just untill i can get it done right) is a bad move. he didnt really give me much more than that, can anyone tell me why that is a bad idea?

First of all leveling kits are for trucks, most of the time stock 4runners sage in the rear. If you want to get an inexpensive spacer lift for front and rear it will be fine, but under wheeling or heavy loads it will destroy your stock springs so plan on upgrading later on. I would recomend a diff drop for the front to. Use the search feature and look up what other people like.

He's talking about a body lift.

No! You cannot put a body lift just on the front. You have 8 body mounts around the car, if you just lift the front mounts, there's gonna be problems. It will most likely bend the body, cause cracks, and god knows what else.

A leveling kit is usually marketed towards trucks, yes, and is usually for the front. Daystar makes them for the 4runner/Tacoma front ends. In which case, these go in the suspension, not the body...and would be fine for you to put in if you just wanted to lift the front end.
