Bobbling Window??

Hey guys....

I rolled my window down today and it "bobbled" as if it was getting caught on something on the way down. It was fine on the way up but it kept on messing up on the way down...just at the beginning when it was all the way rolled up.

Does something need to be lubed up or do I have a bad regulator? I'd think I just need to put some grease or some other sort of lube on something...just don't know what or where.

What do you all think the prob is?

Thanks!!

So I called the dealership up and they say that there is no pads or anything for the window to slide against on a tacoma. I am seeing a cloudy white line on about the center of the window and the same kind of line on the front edge of the window so I figured there was some abrasion going on there. I'm still not sure what the problem is.

Is it possible that the trim on the door, where you would lay your arm, is past it's prime and catching the window on the way down?

Anything helps...thanks!!

when i had a problem with the window on my old 87 pickup, the only reliable troubleshooting can be had with the door panel removed. with the panel removed, i'm sure you'll see exactly what is going on (and learn a bit about the system too!) i'm actually thinking about taking mine off because the driver's side window squeaks on occasion when almost all the way up (on its way up).

The panel comes off in about 10 mins the first time, being careful not to break any clips, then about 1 min after you know where the clips are. good luck with the diag.

Got some Silglyde (sp) from Napa....problem solved. Just sprayed around the cracks in the door and all was good. I guess it was just dirty in there.

Thanks though, Kyle.
