On-board drinking water other than TJM?
I was thinking it would be nice to have some onboard water for my cross country trip. I know TJM sells some water holding shizzle, I was thinking of something mounted under the bed perhaps, I know I could just use jugs of water, but if there is a way to have a permanent setup for not TOO much $$ I'd go for it...anyone know of a similar setup?

Well, when we were kids, and didn't want to get busted drinking under age....(I know it was very poor judgement)...we cleaned out the windshield washer fluid reservoir and rigged the hose into the cab under the dash. We filled that thing with the drink of choice, and when you wanted a shot of what ever you just pumped the window washer button. Worked like a charm. But like I said what poor judgement as a teenager....

AWESOME IDEA
Wow, I don't drink like that, but that is one hell of an idea. Ingenuity at it's finest, boys

I carry a military surplus 20L water can that has the ceramic lining in it. I got it from www.sportsmansguide.com and carry it in a blitz gas can carrier base. I am thinking of a way to install an electric water pump to get the water out without having to carry and tip the can though.

What are you talking about having the water for, just drinking? If so what's wrong with an ice chest and a case of bottled water.......and some lunch meat and some zip locks with candy bars and chips and some bread, maybe even throw in a few soft drinks.
If you plan on stopping and using it for washing off or something.......well I'm not sure.

The TJM one still looks the best if you want to carry a lot.

Last year I saw a guy who was making a carrier that would encompass his roof rack the same shape as it, and hold water.
I no longer can find it, but it was really cool.
I don't know how the rig would handle though with the water sloshing up there, might not be to good with the center of gravity up that high.

I only wanted one that was in-truck because it would be really trick, I will most likely just be carrying jugs or probably a surplus water carrier, that way it will be kinda-custom but still utilitarian. I definitely plan on bringing food with me and shopping at supermarkets, I don't like (bad) restaurant food, I've worked in too many of them.

Since I go out for days at a time and the southwest is always dry, I've looked at different water containers to carry. MSR's 10 liter water bag is expensive and works pretty well. Some of my friends have used store bought 3 & 5 gal containers. Finally my wife emptied one of those washing detergent containers with the valve dispenser. So I rinsed it out. It's GREAT! No leaks, it has a cup that covers the valve and keeps dust out, and you can set it upright so the valve doesn't have any pressure on it. It's the best container I've ever found and the price was right.
