BlackHousing the Blinkers
This is just a small project i made for myself, but im impressed with the results so i thought id share. This only took me about $10 and a few hours of painting. My blinker housings where a target of a bored kid with some spray paint. My friends do the whole rice burner thing so i picked this up from them. Take off your blinker cover, unplug the wires from the housing, then mask off the bulb socket and whatever else you dont want painted and spray down the inside. I used about 5 coats of OEM black paint that you would get at your local automotive store. The difference isnt really to noticable, but in my opinion its a hell of a lot better than the stock hunters orange, and cheaper than buying clear ones.
Note* I had some kinda chemical reaction with the paint toyota used on them originally and it kinda made some nasty paint goo, so best to sand the inside or paint thinner or something. And, like some may think, it doesnt make the blinker any less noticable

In the after pic i have also painted my grill black
Lemme know what you think

i had the orange blinkers, then i got the clear-ish ones (not so clear, just colorless lenses), then i tried to just "smoke" the lenses which didn't work out so great. then, i put a couple more coats of the spray tint and blacked them out. i've got some amber bulbs in there right now and day or night, you can see the blinker perfectly. plus i have blinkers in the corners so cops don't give me trouble. perhaps this summer i'll be painting the bumper black and it will look even better.
