Bilstein 5100 bushing question
I bought some Bilstein 5100 shocks part # 24-100144 which are supposed to fit the 96-02 4Runner but the bottom hoop/bushing is way too small. I bought them new off of Amazon and wondered if anybody else has had this problem.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Either something was changed on your truck. I would guess your old shocks fit on the mounts like they should.
Bad day at the Bilstein Factory and the shocks were mislabeled on the line.
You ordered the wrong part #
Contact Amazon or the vendor that sold them as they are the wrong ones.
Good luck

My truck isn't the problem. I ordered the same set that's been recommended for years now. For whatever reason the bottom hoop is different in size. Take the same part number but from Wheelers and it looks totally different so I have no idea of what's going on. Like you said, maybe a mislabeled set of shocks.

I sent them back to the seller on Amazon so I'm waiting for my refund.
KZN185W, these are rear shocks with the same part # listed on the link that was posted in my thread where we had the lower spring mount installed upside down. I have no idea as to why these parts have the same # but are completely different on the bottom mount. When I get more cash I'm going with Wheelers Offroad for the Bilstein rears.

I just received mine from the Canadian distributer (Essex) and they're the same as well. I'm not sure if I should punch the center tube out and hope the bushing will slip nicely over the 4Runners mount or shorten the mount back then drill it out and re-tap it.

I ended up punching out the whole bushing and ordered a set of 3/4" poly bushings from Summit. http://www.summitracing.com/int/part...202g/overview/
