big brakes and wheel fitment

I'm looking to get a set of reasonably priced wheels. They might end up being my main drivers and they may get used for off-road. Not quite sure yet.

What I'm wondering about is confirmed makes/models of after market wheels that will clear Tundra brakes. Right now I've got 199mm Tundra brakes, which work fine with my stock wheels, but required grinding for the LC wheels. I'm considering an eventual shift to the 231mm Tundra brakes and don't really want to have to grind on the wheels more than I have already. I just want them to fit. Pro Comps are on my radar, but I'm open to any brand.

If anyone has direct knowledge of after market wheels and big brake fitment, info would be great.

Thanks much,

I got some ProComp 16x8 wheels. Don't remember the exact model. Looks a little like a steelie though. Got 231s on with no fitment problems at all. I would imagine the 199s would clear the land cruiser wheels if they'll fit under the stock 4runner ones.

Actually, the LC wheels do not clear the 199mm rotors. Back when I did that combo, I had to grind on the wheels and caliper. Even though there's a tad less backspacing, the structure of the wheels doesn't allow for clearance. My stock 4Runner wheels cleared the 199mm calipers with no issue.

It appears that the Pro Comp wheels should clear. I'm currently cross referencing fitment with 2004 Tundras. It think it's the same bolt pattern and hub diameter, but I haven't quite confirmed. I'm less concerned with the 4.0" backspacing Pro Comps, but I'm really looking at the 4.5" backspacing Pro Comps, so it could be a tighter fit.
