You could always fab up some brackets.
That's what I did for my old Jeep.

Dont they make some sort of little bull bar that literally is made to cover the front middle section of the bumper and also has holes for lights?

For some reason I have never seen one of these on a tacoma, but here is what I am talking about.

Drill through the bumper with the proper size hole and then get about 6 large flat washers, 3 for each hole. There is a rubber flange on top of the bumper and it has about a 1/8" gap between it and the steel bumper. Slide three of the washers in between the rubber and the steel as spacers over the hole and then run the bolt of the light down through the hole and run the nut on it from the bottom side of the bumper and tighten it down.
The nice thing about this is if you ever want to remove the lights you can find a new rubber for the bumper at a junk yard and just replace it. The hole you drilled in the steel will not show and the bumper will look like new. Mike

if you dont want to drill through your bumper, then don't. I had the same dilemma and chose against drilling through as if I take off the lights or choose a different direction for my runner Ill have holes in my bumper. I fabbed up some light brackets. Very easy to do. Ill take some pics later on or tomorrow..been avoiding the picture taking due to very cold temps.

Just drill the bumper!

I'm happy the way mine came out. Plus, the only reason i'll be taking the lights off this bumper is to move them on to a TJM (whenever that day may come).

How could it hinder gas I'm sure all of it only weighs a few pounds. It might block a little airflow threw grill to radiator.
