Best Toyota Seats

I have a '86 Toyota 4Runner, and I'm looking to replace the seats

on a budget.

What do you all think are the most comfortable stock seats from a Toyota 4Runner/Tacoma/Truck?????

Any seats that aren't sold by a guy whose name starts with B and ends with reezey

Sorry Steve, I just had to

I'll give you my own experience: I've owned a 99 4runner w/ sports seats and a 98 4runner w/ sports seats. They are basically the same. But compared to non-sport 4runner seats, its like night and day. they dont have the side bolsters and thats what makes the biggest difference. also, i believe (or at least my ass tells me) the cushion material is much firmer in the sport seats.

Every once in awhile, troll ebay and you'll see someone selling the seats from 4runners. Usually 2nd gens but i've seen a few 3rd gens from time to time. Also axe Ranma or Ilikebeer. For the latter, I think he has seats to sell at the present time.

Steve, Oleg had some Acura seats in an 86 body on a 99 frame/running gear. They were a little small for me, but you are a more normal sized man. He said they have been doing it a lot.

You can weld, so the brackets are easy, just have to find a well bolstered one.

It brings me no end of entertainment that you have an 86 and a 99. One is the DD and one is the trail truck, but it is not the one most would think.

Arizona is calling....

I also think the buckets from 89-95 trucks/4runners are pretty damn comfertable, Im really tall and really skinny though. So I dont know if you can relate to me. Also if you get them, you might want to get 2 drivers seats if you can. There alot nicer than the passenger seats. So when you have passengers there more likely to complement your truck.

I've got a '95 and I'm looking to replace the seats in my rig. I don't have the limited model or anything so I'm not sure if mine are the "sport" seats or not. I may have to see if I can find some sport ones though.

I'm looking to replace my seats on my '94 P/U.

I want to get some bucket seats in there and a center console. I need more storage and the buckets look more comfy.

Are you set on toyota seats?

Just curious because if your going to go custom why not go crazy with it? When I get some different seats for my rig they will definately be out of a volvo. Have you ever sat in one for a long trip? Most amazing seats ive ever sat in. I also am really tall (and skinny) so I need somethign that has the ability to go alittle lower than the factory yota seats go. You also get power and heat options.

Just my .02

With sufficient surgery anything can be transplanted into a Taco. In the best case, these 4Runner buckets will go into a (bucket- or 60/40-equipped) Taco (95.5 - '04) with 3 of the four bolt holes lining up. You'll end up doing some modding to get the fourth done.

yes, the seats in my Honda are very nice. But I don't think Carole would be to thrilled to see me in the garage with the Honda seat in my hands......

I can see her walking into the garage, and demanding that I don't molest the Honda, as I have with the 4Runner.

I meant finding ones like them at a junk yard... Carole would kill you if you touched her car.

The SR5 buckets that I had in my 85 Runner were the most comfortable seats I've ever had, in any vehicle, period. A close second was an '86 Audi 5000 (POS car, great seats...) we had, very nice seats. The SR5 buckets in my 90 are pretty good, but a tad small (short - kinda low backed for me.) I'm tall and skinny too.

I want to get a matching fabric Drivers seat from a RHD 2nd gen. Hilux Surf so that the passenger can have the same adjustability as the driver for long trips. I think my seats are pretty dran comfortable.

i just put 2 buckets from a 92 integra in my junk, they are sooo nice, side bolsters, adj. lumbar support, real comfortable, and they keep you from sliding when goin around turns or in off-situations

The seats in my '95 are OK I guess...but unlike most of you, I'm 6'2" 230-240 and I've probably got the widest shoulders you'll ever see so I could use somethin a little more accomodating. I know mastercraft makes good seats but I'm not sure how they'd look or work in a Runner.

As long as we are talking numbers, I am 6'5" and every ounce of 285. I find the stock 95 seats decent and better since I got a good console to lean on.

I drove a Prelude at the Habitat store today. Those seats were not too bad for a man child like myself. Good bolstering and lateral support.
