Best Place to sell 2000 4Runner

Where is the best place to sell my 2000 SR5 4x4. It has 60,000 miles and is loaded. I am the original owner and changed the oil every 3500 miles along with all fluids at 45k. I am considering ebay, and the auto trader. I can deliver the car to Phoenix. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am hoping to get about $18k--I will find a picture if needed.

Edmunds
Trade in:$17,000
Private party: $19,271

KBB
$17,830 private party

I sold mine on Autotrader.com. Actually, I have sold two that way. A 98 Tacoma LTD, and a 00 5 speed.

Just remember, everyone wants a deal on ebay. Autotrader.com is run till it sells for $50 I think.

I agree with www.traderonline.com (autotrader.com)

I've also sold one of my trucks on ebay with favorable results.

Thanks for the replies--I'll start with traderonline.com and if it doesn't fly I will go for ebay. By the way did you get a good price for the 00 5spd?

I got $19,500 from a local buyer. And I did not budge on the price because I got a lot of calls on it.

(Oh and just so you know I bought that same rig for $15K on ebay)

Turned a nice profit on it

Keep in mind the 00 that I sold had 18K miles. A nice selling point.

I'm only selling her becuase I'm bored more or less--I could put a snorkle in and two arb's and keep her for ever. But if I could get say $17k and put $8k into a FJ80 and put the other $9k in mutual funds for 5 years it might be worth it. I would not be that upset if I put a huge dent in the FJ80---it would suck to screw up the 4Runner.... How much is reasonable to expect for a 00 4Runner with 60k?

Run the NADA and KBB on it. Then search the Autotrader online for similar vehicles, then average everything. That's what you should expect, IMO.

I'm in the same boat as you, Gringo. I'm selling mine too-same year and mileage. NADA and KBB books it out at $19000-22000, depending on condition and location. According to my dad-in-law(a car salesman), Edmunds in rarely used as a reference. NADA and the Autotrader "Black Book" is what most use. Realistically, I think we can fetch $16k; $16.5K if we're lucky.

$16,000 would be hard to justify--I was thinking about a FJ-80 or LX-450 with lockers for around $8,000 plus OME springs,4 liteforce 240's, stainless brake lines, snorkel, and 3 spare sets of brake pads for a grand total of $2,585--This would result in a financial gain of $5,400
something like this--I am 6' 4" and could use a touch more space

option B--take the $16,000 with 5 or 6,000 more and buy a V8 99 or 00 LX470, or land cruiser and not wheel it very much for a while with 2 lightforce 240's, and a snorkel for between $18k and $22k

option C--keep what I have and get a snorkel and arb's--during the monsoon season some of the roads here get around 3' of water--and there are big stretches in the freeway that occasionly wash out--we travel very little(25 miles per day) except once every 3 weeks we go about 350 miles round trip. Any thoughts?

Option D--Get loaded FJ-40 for next 3 years--put $10k in mutual fund--get something like a new fj40 or Tundra in 3 or 4 years--My wife has an 01 accord v6 so we would have good reliable transportation.
