Best deal on OEM rotors and good pads?

Anyone know where I can order a good set of rotors and pads (the pads don't need to be OEM) for a '90 4Runner?

I got a pretty good deal on OEM rotors from here:
connicelli toyota online parts

I also got performance friction pads from Autozone online. I'm not sure what the part number is for your year.

Ahhh I didn't know you could order Autozone online!!! We don't have any around here...where did you order them from? I looked on like www.autozone.com but I guess I missed where you could buy parts? Also, how do they handle the lifetime warranty on the pads then?

1st Toyota Parts has better prices. I compared rotors for my truck with that other site that was listed by sage. 1st Toyota Parts has them for $6 less per rotor. I personally wouldn't buy pads from Autozone. Yeah, they carry a lifetime warranty or whatever, but they may not last very long. I've used plenty of Autozone things in the past and it seems that they need to be replaced sometime before they should be. I guess if saving a little money is what you want and you don't mind changing the pads again, then go for it. The quality of their stuff isn't great.

I hope that helps.

Ordinarily I would agree with AgRunner06 about parts from Autozone however, the pads they sell are Performance Friction pads, supposedly the same sort as those sold by TRD.

Click here then click Brakes/brake pads and enter your vehicle type. I thought I saw them for 39.99. Not sure how the lifetime warranty is handled if you don't have a store near you but I'm pretty sure they have an 800 number.

Normally I would just spend the extra $2.00 for OEM heheh, brakes are pretty important (well in my opinion anyway) and I've definitely read a LOT about how the Performance Friction brakes are just TRD without the TRD badge & wear indicator.

Could you tell me where you read this? It suprises me that something from Autozone can be as good as something from TRD.

look at this thread. If you scroll down a bit, one of the moderators has a post about the TRD and performance friction pads.

Thanks a lot guys for the links. That was some very interesting reading. I'm actually suprised that what Autozone has is almost exactly what TRD sells as their pad. Very interesting indeed.

I wonder if those pads will fit the 2nd gen 4runner. I may be having a brake job coming in the near future since my rotors have already warped slightly. If those pads will work I will buy them. I'll feel kinda weird putting something from Autozone on the 4runner. Oh well.

I just bought a set of rotors from I-Rotors that are aftermarket, high performance rotors instead of the standard OEM rotors for $168 shipped to my door. Anyone else every use them?

keep this spinning!

I'm getting ready to order some Brembo's from www.thepartsbin.com - they are $125.16 SHIPPED!

also, I'm gonna try Kevlar brake pads from this cat:
http://www.stores.ebay.ca/id=73182046

I'll report back.

Also, I need to fix my ebrake....and I'm thinking adjust my rear drums while I'm at it....suggestions? words of wisdom?

look here:

if you look up (my model) '98 4runner 4wd v6
they list 2 types....the first listing are made by Brembo (according to the "sales professional" that I spoke with)

and I stand corrected on the $126 price - these are NOT Brembo's - they are "aftermarket" or NOT OEM. Still, they have Brembo for $140.06 SHIPPED to ya.

suggestions? stay with the OEM's?

Chris man you should have dropped me a line on the rotors. If you notice my quote earlier of $186 that was rotors and pads shipped to your front door. All OEM parts!

Oh well, I didn't know that was for both. I already had purchased the PF pads and decided to go with Cross-drilled, vented rotors from www.irotors.com for better braking performance.

I highly encourage any and all on the boards, if you haven't already, to check out my site.

http://WWW.PARTS@usatoyotaparts.com/

It is easy to navigate through and I think you will find our prices very competitive. If it isn't listed on my site then send me an email or pick up the phone and give me a call.
