Belt slipping?

In December 2008 (3 months ago aprox) I got all my belts replaced (A/C, Alternator, and Power Steering) and when I start my I hear a high pitch skretch for a second that sounds like a typical car with the belt slipping, it goes right away and never hear it again till I start my car up again. Should I be concernced?

Try to avoid the belt dressing. That stuff turns into an ugly goo. Odds are you just need them snugged up a bit as mentioned.

I think belt dressing is a horrible idea! It makes a big mess everywhere. A belt is an easy low cast item that should be replaced or adjusted. I have also seen where people use belt dressing then it turns into where they have to use it all the time otherwise the belt squeeks worse

Same thing with Chapstick! But yeah just snug them down and the squeak will stop.
