I have the BTA100 tube in my 4runner, the 100 watt amped 8" model. I installed it last weekend. It sounds very good in my truck. Keep in mind I am only looking to entertain myself and my passengers, not the whole block, but for my needs it exceeded what I expected of it..
I listen to all kinds of music, from hip hop to classic rock to reggae to electronic stuff and overall Im quite impressed especially for the $139 I paid for it. If you need something a bit better for twice as much money get an infinity basslink..

My friend had one in his S-10 and it was pretty impressive for the bass. It's not as good as those high dollar ones but it was better than I would've thought if you are into that stuff. If you're like me you are already deaf and dont care too much about louder music.

dont get the bazooka go for a Infinity Bass link..you can get them on ebay for about $200 shipped..IMO the best self-powered sub by far. Sounds great and is plently loud and hits hard..I suggjest if you are getting a sub you might as well upgrade your headunit to one such as an Alpine...with a sub and a good headunit youll go OMG

i wish there was a way to put in a 6x9 and still maintain a factory look. Factory speaker size sucks. I'm still not satisfied with my Infiniy references installed

i just hate that we get a 4" rear speaker with a 30+ thousand dollar vehicle.

it should be at least 5 1/4's front and back.

i know you can cut and modify, but thats no fun.

Like you said, its sad that us with the older cheaper models have the same size speakers in the rear.

2000MillRunner, you may want to try and get the Kappa version for the 4" speakers. They are the 42.5i's, they sound a lot better. Those are what I have. I have my buddy working on a custom box to replace the box that is in the side panels so I will be able to fit the 6x9's.

Anyone have any opinions on the Kenwood wOOx. I have very limited space in my Taco and this unit should fit under my seat. Internet reviews are good and I don't need bass thats going to make me deaf or rattle my rig apart. I want to retain my stock radio and I have concerns about how hard it will be to install myself.

I've heard it and to be honest, it sucks. If you're looking for SOME bass then it would be good, but I just couldn't justify spending that much on it. I would spend $50 maybe $75. So if you can get it for that price then go for it. Sorry to discourage you.

You might want to take a look on e-bay for an Infinity Basslink. It's bigger, but it's got every thing built into it and would be just a few connections to remove if needed. That's what I'm going to possibly be getting. And you get good sound out of it as well.

The Kenwood was going for $150 and the Basslink can be had for $200. If I had more room I would not even consider the Kenwood with a $50 price difference. The Kenwood is also self contained (has an amp) and can run off different inputs like the Basslink but is less powerfull. More power less room or--less power no difference in room. Decisions decisions.

The Basslink is disappointing, for sure.

If you spend any time with friends with systems, the Basslink sounds inadequate. I was going to buy one for 130 from my friend at Circuit City, but the display sounded like ˟˟˟˟. It was "there" as far as bass goes, but it didn't really fill out very well. Very....two dimensional bass if you ask me.

Of course, then I went and listened to his system : Infinity Perfect 12" DVC powered by an 800 Watt RMS Infinity amp. It thumps

basslink is far from disapointing........its very hard to judge a sub in the store because your vehicle's acoustics are a lot diffrent than the showrooms. Remeber with a basslink you are getting everything you need for $200 (for you even $150) but all it needs is a better wiring kit than it comes with. You dont need to build or buy a box and figure out how to get that in there you dont need a big amp or anything..and dont forget the basslink hits HARD for $200 and sounds a lot better than a cheap pioneer or alpine or rockford sub. Infintiy makes GREAT products and its really the one to go with if you want a simple solution to add a sub to your system...especially your stock system

I've got a basslink. Found one brand new on ebay for 150. For that price and what I was after, its great. I dont doubt it cant compete with a 12" sub running 800 rms but for someone just looking to get some bass to go with their system it works fine. Probably the best self powered sub out there. One of the best things about it is that you can mount it standing up so that it barely takes up any room. People who ride in my runner are always surprised how decent the basslink sounds and even more surprised how small the unit actually is.

Quit being ignorant - it doesnt behoove you or anyone on this site.

The basslink is adequate however it cannot hope to compete with the sound quality afforded by even a single 10 in a sealed box off of a conventional amp. As far as bazooka is concerned, dont waste your money....
