Battery Rewiring Questions

Battery Rewiring Questions
So I'm looking for something new to do with my truck, and I think it's time to upgrade the half-assed wiring job going to the battery. It looks terrible and everything is stretched to fit my Exide XCD.
Searches turned up nothing useful, aside from info on Pre-96 trucks.
I have a few questions:
- From what I've seen, the Alternator power wire runs from the alternator to the OEM fuse box, and not directly to the battery. I can't tell if the OEM wire is 8 gauge or 4 gauge because of the thin jacket. What gauge is it or what gauge would be appropriate here?
- The starter apparently has a cable that runs directly from the battery to the starter. Is this 4 or 2 gauge? What would be appropriate?
- I plan on putting in a Blue Sea fuse panel when I do this. I'll be running at most 3 pairs of fog lights and a big horn off of it. What gauge wire is sufficient to power the box? Could I run am 800w-1000w inverter through this box?
- Is there a place that sells a decent box that I could mount all the accessory relays in?
- Should I add more grounds? I believe the only ground I have is from the negative battery terminal to the engine below the oil filter. Where else could I ground?
I've attached a diagram I made in Paint. If there's anything I need to adjust, give me some feedback.
I found a source for by-the-foot welding cable , too, if anyone needs it.
