Basic Fuel Filter question...

Is there any reason to get a factory fuel filter over one from an autoparts store? I did a search in here and all I keep finding is the mention of fuel filters, not where they got them...

They will tend to last longer than 3rd party.

The reason is: Toy parts are made w/quality, no kidding! The AM brands are mass produced w/Quanity not Quality!, and that's why there so cheap!
Electrical parts from an AM supplier are the worst!

I had no problem with my aftermarket fuel filter. I had it changed at about 80k due to leaking on the original. I didn't know what they put in. I just changed it at 228k with a Purolator from Pep Boys just cuz I thought I ought to. No leaking or obvious signs of performance trouble. When I got the old one out I noticed it was a Bosch. So at least in my experience, aftermarket seemed to hold up. If this one does as well, I'll report back to you in about 12 years.

On filters, Toy's are made well. I also believe Purolator is made well. Most other stuff is hit or miss...Unless it's Fram...Then it's all crap.

What do you mean, Toyota says their fuel filters last forever. Makes you wonder why they even have replacement available.

OEM 'cause a cute girl works at the dealership

You interested in some beachfront propterty Moss?

I speak from experience. I've replaced mine twice...first time after 7 years...It was havin' trouble with the hills goin' up to ABQ. More power after replacement...

Second time was this summer, just because I didn't want it plugging up on my wife during one of her trips to the university. You should have seen the crap that came out of it.

I think I'll just keep doin' what I've been doin' because I know that filters filter schmutz outa the gas and I've had filters plug up before...always at the most inconvenient moment.

Now about that beach...
