Post Back to the shop I go......

Well I just put the 4runner back in the shop over here at Bossier-Atkinson Toyota in Bryan, TX. They are going to try and figure out what Classic Toyota of Round Rock, TX messed up when they did my head gasket job. I've also got a problem with it idling really high sometimes and it just doesn't sound right.

So far the service has been great. I hope they can finally figure out what the problem is.

I'll post what they find tomorrow after I get a call from them.

Wish me luck (I need it)

Man,
good luck, I hope they figure it out. I especially hate it when you bring your truck in for them to fix something, and it turns out running worse than when you brought it in.

Well I just got my 4runner back from the shop.

The tech spent 2.5 to 3 hrs trying to figure out what the problem was. He found that the gas pedal cable was adjusted way too tight. This caused my TPS to be off and it was causing my idle stick really high, my miss, and probably my hesistation.

Apparently when Classic Toyota did my HG recall they tightened it up too tight. Then when I took it back to them they didn't find it and just replaced my TPS.

So far everything seems to be better. I don't feel it missing anymore, it idles where it should, and I haven't felt any hesitation yet either. Overall it runs smoother too.

The best part about it was that I was only charged for one hour of labor. I was expecting to pay a lot more money than I did. Now I have money for mods.

I'm very pleased with Bossier-Atkinson Toyota's service and work so far. I'm looking forward to getting their survey that they send out.

Glad to hear you got off easy without having to have the HG redone or somethinglike that! Kind of hard to imagine that a stiff throttle cable could do all that... something to ponder over!
