Back from the body shop +lift PICS!!!

Ok, well I didn't make it public or anything but a few of the local guys know that I was in a little accident with my precious 4runner the same day that Mike (Xtreme Off Road) rolled his!! Mine wasn't nearly as damaged, really only got the running board and front/rear driver fender flares...so I went a little farther in my repair and repainted all the fender flares (no more door dings), the front bumper, did the 3 inch lift, added 285's, and went without the running boards.

Let me know what you think!

Haha, I'll have it over here this weekend and I promise I'll get some pics of it while its here...

prolax13- I actually love it. Like everyone says, its just about perfect if you want to run larger tires...I plan on going to the SAW's next only because I want the added ability off road.

Man,
you've got the best of both worlds....One that can take you virtually anywhere in style, and one that can go faster than you probably want to.

I would like to know this too. I am very interested in getting my fender flares painted and the lower front bumper as well. Thanks!

The ride looks great btw.

Honestly it didn't cost me anything to have my flares/bumper painted as I happen to be a friend of a "state farm" approved body shop

...I bring truck to him..he paints eveything extra I want

Lucky me eh?

Truck look great! I'm sure your loving life riding high

I yanked my running boards the day I brought mine home from the dealer when new. I din't care for them and they didn't have one without the boards.

Keep up the good work & mods...

Fans are next with me then headers and that should do it for awhile........yeah right.......

Man that is one sweet friggin' truck!!! I always thought the 3 inch lift was a little high, but you have proved me wrong.
Hey, I thought that was your garage for a second but then I realized it couldn't be because there aren't any bicycles, toys, chairs, boxes, and generally junk lying all over, oh wait, that's my garage!:pat: SORRY <heh>
No really, looks like a damn NASCAR garage.

okay someone do me a favor, i'm getting a 2 inch lift soon, but state law says my body can't be more than 3 inches from my frame, does that make sense? someone measure for me so that i'm not going to have a illegal truck? Please???

That would only make sense if you were doing a BODY lift, not suspension as all the spacer lifts for the 3rd gens are...so if you are talking about a daystar, revtek, or cornbred, then you are fine. I never have heard of a law like that befor though??:pat:

Rmeav8r ~ thanks man, I do my best

your truck looks great! i used to like the running boards when i first got my runner but when i took them off, wow! what a difference it makes.

sleepy- yes a body lift is cheaper but only if you install it yourself. from what i hear its pretty easy but very time consuming. i plan on getting one on as soon as i can sell my manik. i suggest you install it yourself bc my friend was calling around for install quotes the other day and the cheapest he could find was $450!:pat: thats a lot considering the actual body lift kit is only about $100.

well the shop that is supposed to be doing my body lift (don't know which brand at the moment, haven't even made the appointment yet) is going to need it all day, and a friend of mine told me installation is probably going to cost me 250 at least. Anyways i've heard that suspension lifts are in the 1000's, and i'm not spending that kind of money right now. I don't have the time nor ability to install the lift kit myself, i'd rather someone else do it, that way I can blame them if they screw it up. anybody have any suggestions, i have about 600-700 dollars to spend, and I want to ge my exhaust done after that too, so money left over would be better

Sleepy:

Ditch the body lift. Go with the suspension lift. I got my 2 1/2" lift for $175 and installed myself in a few hours. Body lifts are ok and good after suspension lifts if needing additional clearance for tires etc. Suspension lifts are not that expensive unless your looking to do alot of off-road driving and plan on buying an expensive kit that will take the punishment. Check around. I'm sure you can get a suspension lift and have it installed for a decent price.
