Question Auxiliary Audio Input to Stock Radio?

I've got a 2003 4Runner, and I'm investigating the possibility of installing an auxiliary input interface to the factory radio. The basic idea is to allow an external source of music (MP3 player, etc) to play through a good quality connection to the head unit (a set of RCA plugs from the aux adapter). This should give better sound than a cassette tape adapter, FM modulator, FM transmitter, etc.

As far as I can tell, a few companies like Blitzsafe, Soundgate, and PIE offer such aux adapters for 3rd gen 4Runners but do not yet have one that is compatible with the radios on the 4th gen. However, Blitzsafe (www.blitzsafe.com) is supposedly going to have one that will work for the 4th gen radios within a few weeks.

Does anybody have any experience (good or bad) with these aux adapters?

Thanks!

They're VERY popular (basically life savers) with the XM radio crowd. Head up here and search for BlitzSafe and/or PIE to see what they say:

You could get an FM transmiter...
The coolest one ive seen clips right on to the ipod so it will work on any radio... anywhere! Thought that was pretty darn cool.
