ATS has gone out of business but thanks to everyone's favorite vendor, i have been able to track down the ATS arms, they are being made by an ATS fabricator at Inland Trucks. here is the reply i received from them when i inquired about the a-arms and questioned the use of the uni-ball by other manufacturers.

All ATS custom fabrication and long travel kits are now done at Inland Trucks by the original engineer/fabricator of ATS products. The difference you will find with our upper control kit kit for the 96 and newer Tacoma 4x4, pre-runner, 4Runner, Tundra, and Sequoia is that the price is less, more travel is gained, a re-positioned ball joint angle has been made for proper alignment geometry with providing ample positive caster for improved handling, manufactured of 4130 chromoly, and the arms are longer then stock. This is the truth in what you'll find with the Total Chaos kit; Uni-ball on this kit causes a loss of travel ( -1" to -1 1/4" ) , arms are shorter, cannot align to reasonable specifications, bolt to upper uni-ball pokes a big hole in the fenderwell during up travel and hits the lip of the coil bucket. I hope this gives you a good idea about the differences between the two kits available.

hopefully this will help some people out, still much cheaper than the total chaos units. i know i was very sad to see this product go away, and as soon as this poor college kid can scrape up the cash i will be investing in some. maybe we could get mike to see about a group buy....!

so i am assuming that they are claiming they have better travel than total chaos"s kits. i may be asking a stupid question but forgive me im still learning.

not necessarily more travel, just similar and they cost half as much. i also like the fact that the repositioning of the ball joint should relieve lots of stress, which is one of my biggest worries, although i have heard of very few probs with them.

No, you don't need coilovers, yes, you can use them with the stock toyota suspension set-up.
