ARB's service center/dept rocks!!!
I've been having probs w/ my rear locker leaking air causing my compressor to cycle on/off. Finally got fed up so I removed the 3rd and brought it down to ARB in Seattle to have it checked out. Turns out the internal seal had some "junk" in it causing the leak. Tim Lund, one of their service reps, took care of me and showed me how take the locker apart and set the backlash after replacing the seal. He decided to upgrade the seal housing which has bigger o-rings and the bulkhead fitting too which also now has an o-ring for a better seal. All of this was done free of charge and to top it off, he gave me extra parts too. Just wish all vendor companies treated their customers this way.

Tim is a good guy. He helped me get reimbursed from ARB for garage time when the rear coils were installed on the wrong sides due to the bass ackwards labeling they sometimes do on those things.

looks like I'll be doing the same thing to mine. only I don't have the luxury of having them do the work. they are sending me new orings, new seal, and new screws (3 of them) free. I will just need to find the time to do the work myself. any tips?

It's pretty much straight forward. Just make sure you install new lock washers/clips on the carrier after installing the new internal seal.

which washers/clips are you talking about exactly? not the ring gear bolts I'm sure since I won't be separating that from the carrier. here's a wimpy write up to grab a pic from if you need it to show the washers you're talking about.

ok, I know which ones you're talking about then. I'll have to pick them up then since the guy I talked to never mentioned a work of them. he said he's sending me 3 new screws though. thanks for the tip.

I got my parts in from ARB! All free including rush shipping. I got all I need to rebuild the thing: 6-8mm torx bolts, 3 screws, 6-8mm tab washers, new stickers (haha), 2 orings, and 1 seal. he also inclosed I copy of the install instructions since I told him mine was in Houston locked up so he felt obliged to include it! now, short of hooking me up with a place to service it for free here I'd say that's good CS! Now I gotta find somewhere to jack my car up for a day or so. I scavenged a dial indicator from work to set the gears back up.

OK, here's another plug for the ARB tech staff. here's the parts that were shipped to me expedited through ups and all free of charge, I even told them I have had them installed for almost 15 months. and they still mailed all this free:

I should add my little ditty to the mix!
Both little plastic trim pieces on top of my ARB Sahara Bar flew off on the highway, leaving me with broken clips. Bummer eh? I emailed ARB, and got a phone call right away. They're shipping me those parts right away, free of charge!

I lost my plastic winch access hole covers for the top surface of my TJM a long time ago, I wonder if they'd be as generous as ARB was with you Neil. hmm, maybe I'll fire off an email to them.

I only need to long slit one since the square hole has the engage/disengage lever for the winch sticking out of it now. so I could probably just use wide electrical tape, hehe. just kidding of course.
