ARB Sahara fog turn template?
I remember someone from Wild West Fab offered a service where he'd cut regular ARB's so that they accepted the Sahara style pockets. Anyonw know if these ever became available no privately. I mean taking a FJ or similar with the pods, removing them making a cardboard template, and tada, instant template or at least I think. I really need fog lights and feel this may be the best way to go about incorporating them.

I am also curious about this for my ARB bumper. I'm thinking it's doable but then again, I do not have a set of arb fogs to test fit for any clearance/fitment issues.

It isn't the sahara model per say but it is the set that comes witht the gen 4 4runner, Tacoma, and FJ bumpers. I'm not even sure ARB will sell these separate but it's worth asking. The fog lamps don't have to be ARB/IPF there are a set of Hella available for a fraction of the cost. Another option is fab fours bumper and what they use for there FJ. If Corey checks in maybe we can talk him into measuring to se if we have enough clearance on the 3rd gen ARB.

I'd be interested in doing this to mine too.
I think this may be the fog light kit you are talking about: http://www.quadratec.com/products/72900_9003.htm
or maybe this, but this might just be the fog lights: http://www.4x4groupbuy.com/store/lig...ll-p-8625.html

Nothing quite that expensive, these are $50 ea. http://www.rallylights.com/detail.aspx?ID=132 from
http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...rb-bumper.html
and they are Hella. So there are ARB insert which to my knowledge are unavailable and Fab Fours.

I searched and searched and searched back when this thread started and couldn't find anything on those inserts on the rough country fj bumper. I did find those other inserts but they are quite costly. I say do it up right with your own custom look if you really want fogs.
If you want a quick option for more lights in the front and aren't looking for such a permanent thing you can always go with some tabs that mount on the tubing. Kinda like This
good luck.

The bolt on brackets are a good idea but I was trying the get the lights lower w/o getting them so low they'd get knocked off, not that I have ever taken a full frontal assault the the bottom of the ARB but I was trying to be cautious. Perhaps the Hella 90mm fog lamps will fit on the front facing flat surface of the ARB like this.

I've been struggling with the same thing.... Have the exact same setup as you, except with a winch... I was thinking about mounting some Hella 500 Fogs upside down where the Bumperettes are.

I think with that spot things might get a little congested with a winch in there.. Not saying I don't like the idea cus I do dig the look. Maybe this ought to give you an idea of some kind of modification. Grant it, it's a TJM but regardless the wabbit (and team) did a great job with it Rock Slide's Modified TJM
Since the ARBs already have turn sigs, I don't see it being too hard to modify the pre-existing opening to make it bigger, stick an led turn signal in there and make some spots for fogs, no bigger than what you already have in mind. Trust me, if I had the time and money I would have had it done by now. I like seeing new ideas and mods, I say keep it original if you can!
@Yukon: you might have to find a smaller/slimmer light than a Hella 500 to put it in that location. Unless you put some washers on the mounting bolt to bring it off the bumper a little bit, so you can turn it down. The roundness of the light will probably not allow it to aim straight out. Can always try kc slimlites or hella black magics if you go that route. My bumperettes broke off a while back, been meaning to either replace them or stick lights there.

The problem I see is they will probably get smashed off in that spot.. I do a lot of snow driving though so fog lights are almost essential, but I also hit lots of drifts, and such...
What really need to happen is to put some Hella 4000 fogs where the Lightforces are and put the Lightforces (plus two more) on the roof
I wonder if someone could fabricate an LED fog that is in like a strip.. But have a fog pattern kind of like the vision-x bar but slim so it could fit between the headlight and the bumper.

The hella I posted mount flat to whatever, angle like that the beam pattern would be out and not in where you want it. My turn signals are already LED and TIR6 whelen signal units at that,
I also had thought about a 10" or 20" led bar mounted just below the winch cable hole, but with those come some serious $$$.

I wonder if the beam could be configured in a fog pattern... That would be ideal... But your right about the $$$, especially mounted so low down.

Here's a recent idea that requires no modification what so ever. As you know I'm looking for a low wattage (not bright just effective) lighting solution to serve as a fog light of sorts. I have LF 240's for wide open (traffic not present) lighting that I'm slowly converting to HID, my headlamps are IPF X4's that have a super low beam of sorts and do not cast the glare the sylvania's do (typically, thats why they appear bright.
I was thumbing through a issue of 4wp catalog/ magazine and noticed they were selling the Rigin industries LED's, sweet I though. The set they showed were 3"X3" with 4 led's @ $104 ea. or $189 for the pair (while pricey I thought a good solution none the less and at 2"X2" advertised but actually 3"X3", they are small and damn indestructible as they live in a cast aluminum housing. Come in variations of spot, flood, amber, and white. Thoughts?

As far as the insert on the fabFour bumper on the Rough country FJ, did anyone contact Fab Four about the insert?
The Rigin LED's look pretty dang nice. The low amp draw is something that I think is very attactive...just the cost kind of sucks...
Here was a comparison of LED, HID and Halogen lighting:
